Default 79 trans am

Hey guys! Ive got myself a 1979 trans am with the lovely olds 403 in it! I had a bit too much fun with it the day i bought it and blew out a rod bearing . So right now im in the process of overhauling the motor. So far ive got the block down to her skins and now the rebuild process begins. this is the first time ive ever rebuilt a motor so im looking for any pointers and tips you can give me in rebuilding her. Already got a nice cam, heads, headers, holley carb, alum. intake, 3in exhaust, and hooker mufflers. my main question is if i should put in flat top pistons to up the compression a bit. the heads are like 83 er so cc. So if you have any pointers id love to hear them! Thanks!
