Default Hi from SoCal...got a '90 Olds Ninety Eight...

...and I love it. Bought the car last September for $800. Then I had to put a bunch of money into it, and I almost junked it. It needed new struts and shocks to start, then a new ECM, then I looked for almost six months for an ABS module. Finally found one from an '88 Fleetwood. Now my car is almost perfect, except that the radio only works when it wants to.

Here's my question: the flasher went out today...no big deal since no one in CA signals their turns anyway, not even the cops. But I do...and I can't find the damn thing. Where is it? Sounds like it's up under the dash on the driver's side, but I'm still looking...can anyone help?

Thanks,
Dave

I'm actually having the same problem in my cutlass ciera. The right blinker doesn't blink, but it still comes on. The hazards and left lights blink too and I haven't been able to find the flasher.

On my Alero and Impala, the flasher circuit is built into the hazard light switch. It may be the same on your cars.
If that doesn't help, go see if Autozone will let you look at a new flasher, maybe seeing the part will help you recognize it when you have the dash apart.

Found it. The Ninety-Eight actually has two flashers, one for the emergency signal and one for the turn signals. They're under the dash, just to the right of the steering column. Pretty easy to get to once you remove the plastic cover on the underside of the dash.
