hello all. i have spent countless nights browsing the internet about olds' and decided it would be smart to get into a forum, so i'm here. my main focus right now is my '71 cutlass auto 350. i picked her up for $500 in october '05 and i havent had a regret yet. 126,xxx reads the speedometer. i instantly thought, ok, its big block time and found a 425 2bblauto from a '67 delmont 88 4door; i think books said 310hp/450tq for high net, forged crank, forged rods, a little more RPM than a 455, sounded good to me. i started tearing it appart before i realized the difficulty of finding a manual flywheel for these. i spent 6 months tryin to get a flywheel without exceeding the initial price of my cutlass. after weeks of stress, i decided that it would be smarter to go the 350 route, so i pushed the 425 aside for later. i have that 350engine in pieces at the moment.it is in great shape, only the slightestrim at the top of the cylinders, minimal wear and buildup. i ordered my bearings, gaskets, rings, pistons, and headers this last weekend. i need to gather a little more money before i purchase all of my valve train and other misc parts i need. i also just bought all the parts i need for my M2o Muncie !!! i god this muncie from a local shop for $300, but it had been in a 4x4 jeep i was told and it had a different tail case and main shaft, it also came wiht a "complimentary" hurst competition plus shifter *score*. i have a correct mainshaft now and a matchingnumbers tailfcase, i will do the switch-aroo in the next few days. i had to make my first muscle car, this cutlass, manual, its just that way. i have installed the clutch/brake pedals and bracket. i also found a good pair of buckets from a 74 or 76 pontiac that match the white and black interior. i also found an oldschool looking tach that will fit perfectly in the delete plate and the font of the tach also matches the stock speedometer, so thats really sweet, i jsut hope i dont have to do any cutting to get that tach in :S. thats pretty much the shake down of my cutlass so far. i also have a '74 cutlass supreme, the body is PERFECT! but it has a 400 chevy in it that doesnt turn. or so i'm told, i dont know about CID, but it does not turn for sure. if anyone is interested, let me know, i kind of want the 400, assumeing thats waht it is. i am currently in my second year of a 4 year auto degree and have most of the good olds' skoped in the town, lol. and i'll see waht i can do about linkin a pic of my cutty.

PaX

she's rough, but that doesnt make her any slower!and yeah, that is bare metal on the hood... i got her that way, andrust jsut must not like my cutlass!
