Aloha All,
Recently found this site. Will stop by from time to time, I try not to spend very much time on the computer, would rather be out in the shop. I grew up in a family of Olds enthusiasts, in the 60s and 70s my dad was putting Olds motors in just about anything with wheels or floated! My personal favorite was his 49 3/4 ton GMC pickup with a hot rodded Olds 371 ci and a B&M Hydro in it! It was fast for its day!
Currently running a restored 57 Olds 4 dr hardtop, and a 55 Chevy stepside with a 70 Olds 455 in it. I put a 4L80E tranny and transfer behind the Olds and converted it to four by four. The adapters for the BOP to Chevy bolt pattern gave me a few fits before I worked it all out, but it is a strong running, stump puller of a truck!
Past cars include a 67 442 four speed, and a 67 Delta 88. Both had been hit pretty bad by the "Hawaiian Cancer" (Rust!) before I got them, drove them for awhile but eventually parted them out and kept the 400/4 sp from the 442 and the 425/th400(switch pitch) from the Delta. Both motors have the same forged crank and 7" rods. The 425 has been rebuilt with a 6/71 blower from Don Hampton and a full bottom end girdle from J&S, but is still sitting on the motor stand, looking for something light to put it in for street/strip use. One of the first gen F85s, from 61 to 63, would be great if I could find one!
Much Aloha to you all from Hawaii....
