I've inquiered about some maybe '50-'56 heads that I would like to run in me Olds coupe, but haven't gotten any answers yet. Head numbers are, 577608(big ports and valves), 571870, and 566152. Any idea on what year and c.i.d. engines these came from?

Hello Mack:

There should be a two digit number cast in the head over the center exhaust port. #10 is a 1956 324 ci., #14 is a 1957 371 ci., #16 is a 1958 371 ci. There should also be a number stamped on a machined surface above the center exhaust port and just below the valve cover mating surface. All of these acn be used to identify what head you have. www.442.com has a FAQ section that lists the cylinder head id. I hope this helps.
