Well 400.00 new fuel sending unit, 2 clusters pulled from the local scrap yard 25.00,returned to dealer to have them tell me whats wrong 115.00 and still no fuel guage reading. dealer wants 400.00 for new cluster and if that does'nt fix it non returnable part I'm out another 400.00. Is there something I'm missing has anyone had fuel guage problems? Is there another cluster that will plug into the Alero wireing harness? My deal of a car is breaking the bank.

It could be the bobber, or what ever they use now, that is in the actual gas tank. I am not really sure what that involves, but its not what you call cheap. My friend had it done to his '57 Bel Air and it cost him a couple hundred. Like the guy above said, find a garage, not the dealer.

If you have already tried 2 other clusters and it didn't work, it's most likely not the cluster. I think a Grand Am cluster will fit, but that doesn't mean it will work.
I agree with ilike and jfhunter, find a garage, not a dealer.
