Disc brake question
Hey all,
im currently working on converting a friends 70 cutlass supreme from front drums to discs. He bought the basic conversion kit from oldscarparts.com. It’s a nice kit and going together smoothly. The only hiccup I’ve had so far is on the passenger side hub assembly. When I go to install the caliper and pads the outboard pad is rubbing entirely way too much. I havent run the rubber hoses to the hardline yet so there is no fluid in the caliper yet. I’ve checked and removed and reinstalled the hub/disc assembly. I did not have this issue with the drivers side assembly it all went together smooth as silk.
I have reached out to oldscarparts.coms customer support, but due to minimal manning I have yet to hear back from them, so I’m turning to the forums. Have any of you installed their basic disc brake conversion onto your car, and if so, have you run into this dilemma? Also, what did you find to be the solution? I’m trying to get the car up and running for him sooner than later. Thank you for your time and assistance
