Recently i tried to replace my old tires on my 85 cutlass supreme, the problem is when i bought the car it came with daytons with an octagon cap. The tire repair guys tried to remove the wheel but could not. It seems to be stuck there. The guy even had a socket that fit the octagon cap on the dayton wheel, he tried to remove it with his power tool and i think it made it worse. The octagon cap, think of it as the only lug nut to remove the wheel, was cross threaded and no longer responds to the power tool or anything. so basically i am stuck with a wheel and tire that needs replacing. i was wondering if there is anything else i can do? i was thinking i should replace the entire front axle...any ideas????please help, my car runs smoothly and do not want to get rid of it.

all you have to do if you have a socket for that one big screw on the dayton wheel is either get or fabricate your own breaker bar that will fit on a really really really big ratchet or wrench that is really really really long and pry on the nut, thatsthe only way i can think of getting it off unless you get behind the wheeland unbold the upper and lower ball joints and swaybar linkages etc. Those are the only ways i can think of.
