Okay, my tranny went bad in my 1999 Alero, went to the salvage yard and picked up another one from a 1999 Malibu. Same tranny, but when it came time to slide the drive axles into the new tranny they won't fit. I went to the auto parts store and had them look up the part numbers for the Alero and Malibu, same part # for the cars? Took a micrometer and measured the CV joints, drive axle is 46mm and the tranny is 36mm, am I missing something? Any help would be appricated!!!
