hi everyone, i have a 1991 cutlass supreme sl 2 door. i notice when i close the door i hear a noise after a couple seconds. its a solenoid noise. when i open the door, i hear the same noise. i just bought the car and the previous owner was not able to tell me anything about the car and what it had for options. it has electric windows and door locks. i noticed in the owners manual there was an optional keyless remote. could this indicate it had that option? i dont have a remote control so i dont know what else it could be. any help would be appreciated. tnx, martin.

 

 

solved. it is a relay that turns on the outside key illumination for finding the keyhole at night. it is energized whenever you pull on the outside handle or inside door handle and should extinguish after a few seconds.

 

We hear the nosie also on a 94 Cutless, thought it might be the seat belt retractors.

 

Have same problem...but then i replaced mine with oldsmobile Canada .
