I have a left front rattle/clattering sound when driving at low speeds over bumpy terrain. Any suggestions?

worn out or loose struts . have struts been changed? check fender bolts and inner fender bolts. did it start suddenly or gradually ,

If struts are loose or worn could I feel loose steering? I feel loose steering and feel some loose connection when the brakes are applied.
