I have a 1993 olds silhuoette with a 3.8l. when it runs it runs great no oil burn or chugs, thumps or anything else. After 140000 miles thats not bad. About a year ago it quit running in the middle of the road. after some work and a new ingintion module she ran great again, like nothing happened. Had to park her for a few months and when I went to start her again she would crank but not start. Checked the fuel to the manafold, ok. now i have replaced the igintion module again. SHE STILL WON'T START. Any body got any ideas? could the new module be bad? Is there something else I need to check. Can I check the module before I return it. HELP[img]smileys/smiley11.gif[/img]

3 things make a gasoline engine run . fuel , spark , air . if you are sure you have fuel then go to spark. pull the spark plug wire and remove spark plug , then put the spark plug in wire and lay it on a hard metal surface of the engine . turn the engine and watch for spark. this will determine if the module is defective. again , place the spark plug in the wire and place on hard metal surface on the engine. good luck...

I guess four times is the charm. After replaceing the module for the fouth time, she started up with no problems....[img]smileys/smiley17.gif[/img][img]smileys/smiley17.gif[/img][img]smileys/smiley17.gif[/img]
