97 Cutlass Supreme truck problem.

Every time this car goes over the slightest bump it sounds like the trunk is being slammed shut, I've tried putting thick foam rubber every where I can and nothing solves it. The most frustrating part is every once in a while it will stop for a couple of days?

Sounds like the same thing that happened to my other GM product (96 Lumina). Found the strut mounts were shot. Changed those out and it got surprisingly quiet.

gferraro-
Did you replace the strut mounts yourself, if so was it a relativly easy job? I was planning on doing my rear brakes pretty soon and could do the strut mounts at the same time.

No.. I was in a bind for time and actually paid somebody 8-(
Including the struts & mounts I got taken for $475+. I should have put up with the noise a bit longer and used 1/2 that money on something better. I will be doing my 91 Calais in a few weeks, struts, shocks, & all 4 mounts. Already have all the parts for less than one third of what I spent doing the rears on the Lumina.
